CHILDREN'S CHOIRS
A music ministry for children is offered through vocal and handbell
choirs. Aldersgate Choir is for children in grades
1 to 6. Rehearsals are held from 3:30 to 4:30 each Wednesday (as part
of our LOGOS program), and the children sing for church services usually
once a month.
Asbury Handbell Choir is for children in grades 3 and
up. It rehearses on Wednesday evenings during LOGOS. There are no qualifications
to join other than a desire to play handbells. Contact Gale Lindell
for the current practice information.
Youth Chorale includes grades 7 to 12. Rehearsals are
held each Wednesday from 5:45-6:45 p.m. Wesleyan Handbell Choir includes
youth in grades 7 to 12 and practices during LOGOS. Contact Gale Lindell
for the current practice information.
ADULT
CHOIRS
The Chancel Choir practices at 7:30 p.m. each Wednesday
and provides music for the 11 a.m. Sunday worship and some special services.
The Epworth Handbell Choir meets each Tuesday at 7:30
p.m. in the sanctuary.
We also have a group of Madrigals who meets for practice
on Wednesdays at 6:30p.m. and provide service music.
BREAKTHROUGH
PRAISE TEAMS
We currently have two praise teams who lead worship at our 6:00 PM Breakthrough
service: an adult team and a youth team. The music varies from
light pop to moderate rock. Currently, our lineup is guitar/bass/drum/keyboard/vocals,
though we could incorporate other intstruments. If you are interested,
our practice times vary, please contact Bill Beatty (723-4930) or email.
Also, if you have other artistic/technological talents and/or interests
(painting, sculpting, comptuer graphics, photography, sound reinforcement,
etc.), please let us know.
HYMN
BOOK TRIVIA
Did you know that the composer and author of Hymn 123 in our United
Methodist Hymnal was married in our church sanctuary? John Thompson,
who wrote "El Shaddai" (God Almighty) in 1981 was married on March 29,
1996. The Rev. Ken McGowan officiated at his wedding.
